Gelagen Results Timeline: What Nails, Hair and Skin Can Do, Week by Week

Growth clocks set the pace, not the supplement. Here is a realistic schedule, the evidence behind it, and how to document your own trial.

Why every result runs on a growth clock

Hair shafts and nail plates are made of keratin that is no longer alive once it has formed. Nothing you swallow changes the hair already on your head or the nail already past the cuticle. Any effect therefore appears in new growth, and new growth is slow: fingernails grow roughly three millimetres a month, toenails about a third of that, and scalp hair roughly a centimetre a month. Skin renews faster, but its outer layer still takes several weeks to turn over, more as we age.[5]

Hair has a second clock. Most scalp hairs are in a growing phase lasting years; a small share rests for about three months before falling out. Normal shedding is 50 to 100 hairs a day, and a stressful event can push many hairs into the resting phase at once, so heavy shedding often starts two to three months after the trigger.[1] A supplement started during that wave cannot stop hairs that are already on their way out.

What the studies say about timing

The brittle-nail studies that support biotin gave 2,500 mcg a day for several months before reporting firmer nails.[2][3] The case reports collected in a 2017 review describe improvement over months, in people with a diagnosed cause.[4] No study reports meaningful change inside a few weeks, and none reports any change at all in people with adequate biotin.[6]

The refund window ends before hair results

This is the most important practical point on this page. The refund window is 60 days. Nails may show a first band of new growth inside it; hair almost certainly will not. That leaves a buyer with three honest options at around day 50:

  • Nails improved: keep going; the formula seems to suit you.
  • No change and no strong reason to continue: request the refund before day 60.
  • No change yet, but hair is the goal and you suspect a deficiency: get a blood test, decide on that basis, and accept that you are continuing beyond the refund period.

How to take photos that actually show a change

Use the same window, the same time of day and the same distance. Photograph both hands flat on a plain surface, the front hairline and the crown with hair parted the same way, and one cheek without makeup. Repeat at day 50 with the same setup. Count hairs in the brush or drain on three consecutive days at the start and again at day 50; a single day means little. The interactive photo log on the home page turns these scores into a simple comparison.

Give Gelagen a fair 60-day trial

Payment happens on the seller's BuyGoods checkout. Take two gummies a day as the label says, photograph your nails and hairline in the same light on day one, tell your doctor about the biotin before any blood test, and if the photos look the same around day 50, email the refund request while the window is open.
